WHAT WE'RE UP TO!
February 5, 2021:

The generosity of our Rincon Rotary Club members continue great support to our community. On behalf of our members, President Steve and Mike Esparza delivered 168 No-Slip Socks for the Veterans who are patients at the Tucson VA Hospital. Pictured with Steve and Mike is a wonderful lady by the name of Cathi Starr; a Veteran herself, who sponsored and supported our Club's visit last week on 5 February 2021. Another great lady by the name of Sandy Pedigo (a Veteran)
made the sign that Mike and I are holding.

December 2020:
Our club participated in Rotary Global Grant #2096305 to provide clean water and functioning bathrooms and sanitation facilities to a little village in the mountains of Guatemala. The first phase was the distribution of portable water filters by EcoFiltro (made in Guatemala) to the families in El Jute, Guatemala. The next phase, started in November 2020, includes the construction of new bathrooms.
December 21, 2020:
Of significant excellence for Rincon Rotary Club members, is a picture of our hard-at-work members, with the help of Vice=Principal Julie, installing our first Peace Pole at the Tanque Verde Elementary School.

December 19, 2020:
Rincon Rotary Club Rotarians continue their outstanding service to others with generous donations for this 2020 Holiday Season. Our Club's noteworthy donations are: $2250.00 to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona; $1690.00 for Desert Skies United Methodist Church; and Wings for Women of Tucson.

Rotary Local:
108 5th Grade students at Tanque Verde Elementary School now have 5 novels each to read at home for the second semester of school.

Rotary Local:
Even through all the school closings and reopenings, we continue to support our teachers with their classroom needs through Rotary Local. Thanks to our club, 85 4th grade students at Tanque Verde Elementary have the nutrient-rich top soil to plant their garden so they can study the chemistry of soil, needs of plants, and see saving.
October 26:
The Rincon Rotary Club continues its robust support for Youth on Their Own's (YOTO) homeless students. Our generous and dedicated Rincon Rotarians donated 312 pairs of socks for homeless students as one of many local teams for YOTO's "3rd Annual Socobter Challenge". Pictured is our Club's delivery team for Monday 26 Oct 2020. Our Team comprised Steve Pedigo President, Fred Muthard Secretary, Candace Lansberry Immediate Past President, and Wendy Hobbs our Director for Club Administration. We want to thank YOTO's Soctober Challenge Project Officers; Ms. Rachel Pollack, and Ms. Kristen Ohman.

September 21, 2020
On behalf of our Members of the Rincon Rotary Club, President Steve Pedigo and Wendy Hobbs presented a $1275.00 check to THREAD (Together for Hope, Resiliency, Empowerment, and Development); organized and led by the Imago Dei Middle School. The School's leadership that were present (and pictured) for our check donation were Renee Downing, Bibi Zahva and Susan Gamble. THREAD is a project supporting refugees giving them the tools they need to produce and sell face masks. Shown by the photo next under, Steve and Wendy received a tour of the robust face mask operation which was quite impressive.
